Our survey was distributed to all families in our school as an online survey.
The number of participants was 114.
After reading the survey results, classes 6A and 6B commented on the results. Here are their observations:
Morning snack is for 85 families fruit, vegetable or dairy products which surprised us as well as the amount of fizzy drinks which about half of the people never drink. These two results were surprising and we are not quite sure if the answers were sincere. We can see quite a lot of pupils in our school drinking cola or eating sweets.
We were happy that 97 people agreed that fast food meals are not healthy though 2 said they are and 4 don´t know.

Only about half of the respondants (46) always read labels on packages. The second half (52) only sometimes, which we think should be changed.

As we talk about healthy eating and we all know we should eat healthy we found out that 64 families think teir food is haelthy, some don´t know and only 17 respondents admit they eat unhealthy. It is something we would like to focus on and learn more about what is healthy and why it is healthy.

This time the survey did not respond as many respondents as the first one, still we can have some comparison.
Generally, we can say that there have not been many changes from the survey at the beginning of our project. Some differences which we could find were mostly for the good, so we can assume there was some positive impact on our children and families.

There is the same number of those who have 5 meals a day, which is good point. We are glad after our healthy breakfast campaign that the last number of those who have breakfast every day increased by a few per cent (from 80% to 83%). About ⅓ have some fruit or vegetable for snack. As for dinners and breakfasts most of our children have these meals at home, unlike lunches which are eaten with friends, meaning at school. (It isn´t the matter of our survey but as we have our school canteen, it is likely to have this answer.) Less people eat regularly vegetables, the answers show that a year earlier the families ate vegetables mostly every day, this time it is 3-4 times a week. Very bad situation is persistant as for eating fish, the number is better by 10%, but still most our families eat fish very rarely. Better result is in drinking water with meals, it is higher by 10%, we tried to support this by offering just water in our school canteen. About 75% of our families grow at least some meals, mostly fruit of vegetables.

There is still a habit to buy at the nearest shop, which was answered by nearly half of the respondents and about half of them take a shopping list always, and the second half only sometimes. The most important aspect when shopping is the quality 83%, next is the price 57% and only the next aspect is the iingrediences 40%. More people are aware of E conservants, the number increased by nearly 10% up the 85%. Finally, about 82% takes the shopping bag when shopping.

Better results are in the fact that nobody answered that they do not recycle litter. The survey showed that more families read the recycling instructions on products, it was from 43% to 50% of those who started to recycle according to instructions. Children also realized that they were taught in school more intensively about healthy life style because already 90% of them said they learn about this issue in school. And that was one of our aims.
